Wix is one of the best-known website builders for the general public. It lets you build a showcase site, a blog or a store by drag and drop, with no coding, hosting and maintenance included. Built by an Israeli company, it targets people who want a site online fast, without technical skills.

What is Wix used for?

You start from a template or the AI assistant, then compose your pages visually, block by block. Wix covers the showcase site, blog, appointment booking, e-commerce and a custom domain. Everything is managed in one place, hosting included, making it a turnkey solution for freelancers and small businesses.

Wix or WordPress?

WordPress offers more freedom and better control long term, but requires more learning. Wix is simpler and faster to get started, at the cost of strong lock-in: you can't export your site to another platform. For pure conversion pages, a Leadpages is more targeted.

What are Wix's limits?

The free plan displays the Wix brand and a subdomain. Once a site is built on Wix, it can't be migrated elsewhere: the content is locked into the platform. On heavier sites, performance and SEO need attention.
