The most powerful paid acquisition lever on search intent, fearsomely effective but demanding method to avoid burning budget.
Google Ads is Google's advertising network, one of the largest paid acquisition levers in the world. It runs ads on Google Search, YouTube, the Display Network and Gmail, paid mostly per click, through an auction system.
Google Ads is used to capture existing demand: appear at the top of search results on keywords, retarget visitors on display, run videos on YouTube or push product listings in Shopping. You define campaigns, keywords, a budget and bids, then optimize against conversions measured via Google Analytics.
Google Ads captures intent at the moment of search, where Meta Ads bets on interest targeting and interruption. Many advertisers combine both. Google dominates search, the channel closest to purchase.
There is no subscription: you pay to run ads, mostly per click, at a price set by auction. The advertiser sets a daily budget and bids; cost per click varies widely by sector and keyword competition.

Google Ads does not work by subscription: you pay to run ads, mostly per click, at a price set by an auction system. The advertiser sets a daily budget and bids, with no imposed minimum. Cost per click varies widely by sector, keyword competition and ad quality, from a few cents to several euros. The budget is therefore fully adjustable.
