SaaS Radar Review
8/10

An excellent accounting tool for French freelancers, with a free plan rare in its depth, whose Premium pricing adjusts to legal status.

  • Complete free plan with unlimited invoicing
  • Automated accounting through bank connection
  • Centered on freelancers, not companies with employees

Indy, formerly Georges, is a French accounting and management software built for freelancers: independent professionals, sole traders, small companies, property holding companies (SCI), and furnished rentals (LMNP). Based in Lyon, it automates the admin work freelancers dread most, from invoicing to tax filings.

What is Indy used for?

You connect your bank account, and Indy categorizes transactions, keeps the books automatically, and prepares mandatory filings (URSSAF, VAT, tax returns depending on legal status). The invoicing module, free and unlimited, issues compliant quotes and invoices, with overdue payment reminders. Indy is an approved platform for the e-invoicing mandate now rolling out across France. The pitch: manage your own accounting without an accountant, or stay in control while delegating certain filings.

Indy or Pennylane and Tiime?

Compared to Pennylane, aimed more at accounting firms and SMBs, Indy targets freelancers directly, with a very complete free plan. Compared to Tiime, close in target audience, it pushes filing automation further. For invoicing alone, Abby or Henrri are enough; Indy wins as soon as you need to handle the full accounting picture.

What are Indy's limitations?

The Premium plan's price adjusts to your legal status (from €15 for micro, €22 for individual enterprises, €24 for SCI/LMNP, €49 for companies), a grid that mirrors the real accounting complexity of each structure, worth checking for your own case. The genuine limit lies elsewhere: the tool is centered on the freelancer, it doesn't target companies with employees or full commercial management. If you'd rather delegate, Indy offers an Accountant option from €49/month.
