An excellent automation platform for developers, blending no-code and serverless code, less approachable for non-technical profiles and worth watching on credit usage.

  • Node, Python, Go, or Bash code inside workflows
  • Over 2,000 integrations with managed authentication
  • Developer focus, less approachable for non-technical users

Pipedream is a developer-focused automation platform that connects thousands of APIs. It sits between no-code and code: you assemble workflows visually, but can drop in Node.js, Python, Go, or Bash code at any point to go beyond the ready-made building blocks.

What is Pipedream for?

You start from a trigger (webhook, schedule, an app event) and chain steps that call APIs, transform data, or run code. Pipedream provides over 2,000 integrations with managed authentication, a serverless execution environment, and ready-to-use connectors. It's the tool for technical teams that want the flexibility of code without managing infrastructure, for custom integrations that mainstream tools don't cover.

Pipedream or n8n, Zapier, and Make?

Compared to Zapier and Make, more mainstream, Pipedream fully embraces its developer focus and free-form code inside workflows. Compared to n8n, open source and self-hostable, it stays a managed platform (less maintenance, no self-hosting). For a technical profile wanting to code automations without a server, it's excellent.

What are the limits of Pipedream?

Its developer focus makes it less approachable for non-technical profiles. Credit-based billing (30 seconds of compute per credit) requires watching your usage, and the lower tiers cap the number of active workflows and connected accounts.
