PrestaShop is an open-source e-commerce solution of French origin, used by hundreds of thousands of online stores. The software is free to download and install on your own hosting, with an active community and a large catalog of modules and themes.

What is PrestaShop used for?

PrestaShop is used to build and run a complete online store: catalog, cart, payment, order management, stock, carriers and taxes. Its open-source nature gives full control over code and hosting, with fine adaptation to the French market (VAT, carriers, legal notices). A hosted offering also exists to skip the technical part.

PrestaShop or Shopify?
