A mature, full-featured accounting tool, the benchmark in North America, but of limited relevance to a French company since it lacks local tax handling.

QuickBooks is Intuit's accounting software and one of the most widely used in the world, especially in North America. It targets freelancers and small businesses that want to manage invoices, expenses, and bookkeeping in a mature, full-featured tool.
You track income and expenses, issue invoices, reconcile bank accounts, and prepare tax filings (depending on the country). Higher-tier plans add bill management, time tracking, inventory, and project profitability. QuickBooks stands out for its maturity: solid reporting, a large app ecosystem, and integration with accountant support in its core markets. It is a benchmark for bookkeeping among English-speaking small businesses.
This is the key point: QuickBooks is built for English-speaking markets and does not handle French accounting standards or VAT, and Intuit no longer actively sells it in France. For a French company, Pennylane, Indy, or Tiime are far more relevant. QuickBooks remains an excellent choice for a business focused on the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
Outside English-speaking markets, the mismatch with local tax rules is a dealbreaker. Prices have risen in recent years, there is no permanent free plan, and useful features (inventory, projects) unlock high up the pricing grid.
