A solid AI research assistant that grounds its answers in your documents with citations, valuable for academic work, more limited outside the document-research scope.

Anara, formerly Unriddle, is an AI-powered research assistant built for researchers, PhD students, and professionals who handle a lot of documents. It builds a library from your PDFs and connected sources (Zotero, Google Drive), then answers your questions by citing the original passages.

What is Anara for?

You upload research papers, reports, or notes, and query the whole set in natural language: Anara finds the information with inline citations tied back to the source passages, which limits hallucinations. It also helps draft a paper by automatically suggesting references, and can extract structured data (tables) from a PDF. The vendor claims markedly better accuracy than a general-purpose AI like ChatGPT on this kind of document work, with SOC 2 and HIPAA certifications.

Anara or a general-purpose AI?

Compared to a general assistant, Anara grounds every answer in your documents and shows its sources, where a generic AI can make things up. For academic work where traceability matters, that's a real advantage. For general-purpose writing, a tool like ChatGPT remains more versatile.

What are the limits of Anara?

The free plan caps the number of AI words and imports per day. The tool is mainly aimed at document research: outside that scope, it's less useful. Like any AI, its answers need to be checked, even when cited.
