SaaS Radar Review
8/10

The all-in-one workspace that replaces the doc, wiki, and project management trio for product teams.

  • The same database can display as a table, calendar, kanban board, or timeline without duplication
  • Wiki, documentation, and roadmap live in the same connected workspace
  • No imposed structure: without internal conventions, the workspace quickly becomes unreadable

Notion brings notes, wikis, and databases into a single workspace, which saves you from juggling three separate tools. The US-based editor Notion Labs, headquartered in San Francisco, built a system where every page can also be a database, which explains its adoption by product teams that store documentation, roadmaps, and meeting notes there.

What is Notion used for?

The core building block is the relational database: the same task list can display as a table, calendar, kanban board, or timeline, and links to other databases (projects, people, sprints). Around it, free-form block pages serve as a team wiki or knowledge base, and Notion Sites publishes a page as a website.

Notion vs Airtable: what's the difference?

Airtable stays focused on pure database work, while Notion blends wiki, docs, and database on the same page. Compared to project management tools like ClickUp or Trello, Notion is more flexible but less structured: nothing is organized by default, so a team has to set its own conventions or the workspace quickly turns messy.

What are Notion's limitations?

Notion AI and enterprise search are locked behind the Business plan, hosting is in the United States, and support is English only. For a team that wants an imposed project methodology from day one, the tool requires too much upfront setup.
