Slab

Slab is a team knowledge base built around clarity and speed. Where other tools stack feature on top of feature, Slab focuses on doing one thing well: documenting a team's knowledge and finding it fast, in a clean interface.

What is Slab used for?

You write structured documents (processes, decisions, guides, onboarding), organized into themed "topics" rather than rigid folders. The editor is smooth and clean, unified search also digs through connected tools like Slack, GitHub, or Google Workspace, and permissions let you open up or restrict access. The goal is simple: stop a team from asking the same questions and let it find the right, up-to-date information on its own.

Slab or Notion and Slite?

Compared to Notion, a Swiss-army-knife that also does databases and project work, Slab stays focused on the wiki, with less sprawl. Compared to Slite, another polished knowledge base, it plays a similar hand but with its own topic-based organization and cross-tool search. For pure, readable documentation, it's a targeted choice; for an all-in-one workspace, Coda or Notion go further.

What are Slab's limitations?

The scope is deliberately narrow: no application database, no project management. The Business plan's price isn't public, and US-based hosting can weigh on an organization sensitive to data location.
