Softr

Softr is a no-code platform that turns a database into a web application. Its specialty: building client portals, intranets, directories, or internal tools on top of Airtable or Google Sheets, without writing a line of code.

What is Softr for?

You connect your data source, then assemble an application from ready-made blocks (lists, tables, forms, member areas). The data stays in Airtable or Google Sheets; Softr supplies the interface, authentication, permissions, and hosting. You end up with a portal where each client sees their own data, a filterable directory, or an internal tool, in a matter of hours. It's the bridge between a structured spreadsheet and a real, usable application.

Softr or Bubble and Glide?

Compared to Bubble, more powerful but with its own database and a steep learning curve, Softr is faster and more accessible, at the cost of depending on the data source. Compared to Glide, very close in concept, it stands out with its blocks and portals. For a complex standalone application, Bubble goes further; for a portal built on existing data, Softr is unbeatable for simplicity.

What are the limits of Softr?

Dependency on the source (Airtable, Google Sheets) sets limits on volume and logic: for heavy processing, a standalone tool is preferable. Prices, shown in dollars, climb with the number of users and applications, and customization stays bounded by the available blocks.
